My parents called me today to let me know that Ray Arrington’s obituary was in an Arkansas newspaper. I recall Ray and his wife, Shirley from my days as pastor of West Rock Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. I had the privilege of baptizing them.
What I will remember most was Ray’s gentle spirit. He was a dedicated and faithful man who was very supportive of his pastor. Later, after I had moved to Louisville, Ray and Shirley stopped in to hear my preach at a church in Indiana. They were on a trip and made the effort.
Shirley, I also remember those green beans wrapped in bacon with brown sugar.
