  • A U.S. soldier in Afghanistan had some Bibles in Afghan languages sent to him.  After a media alert, the military confiscated the Bibles and had them destroyed.  It is illegal in Afghanistan to convert from Islam.  In fact, in 2006 a man who had converted to Christianity was sentenced to death for apostasy.  He was later allowed to leave the country after an international outcry.  General Order #1 for the U.S. Central Command forbids troops from trying to convert people to another religion.

  • See why NARAL is lauding the first 100 days of President Obama’s administration.  NARAL tags their logo with “Pro-Choice America.”  This article lists 7 steps down a “pro-choice” path taken by the new administration in just 100 days.

  • Tullian Tchividjian describes the one thing that preachers need above all else — unction.  He defines it as an effusion of power from the Holy Spirit as one preaches.
  • Listen on-line to the mp3 of Dr. Shawn Wright titled John Calvin as Pastor.  This is one of 3 sessions at the “Remembering John Calvin” conference sponsored by the Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies commemorating the 500 year anniversary of John Calvin.  Dr. Wright and I worked together in PhD studies in Church History (He finished.  I did not).  Wright is a diligent scholar from which we can learn much.
