A recent Gallup poll asked Democrats, Republicans and Independents whether they found certain behaviors morally acceptable or morally wrong. As you might imagine, some significant differences exist between the people of the two major parties. Independents demonstrate either a middle road or a more libertine perspective.

To compare the political affiliations with the general populace, compare these results to the ones in this article, What Americans Find Morally Acceptable and Morally Wrong.
Here are a few of my observations. Feel free to offer your own.
- Only three issues have at least 30 percentage points difference (a few others are close).
- Republicans overwhelm the Democrats in finding the death penalty acceptable.
- Democrats overwhelm the Republicans in finding abortion and gay relations acceptable.
- With a 4 point margin of error, no statistical difference exists when it comes to birth control and cloning.
