The Murder of a Missionary

Cheryll Harvey was a Southern Baptist missionary in Jordan. For 24 years she taught and loved the Jordanians. This week she was stabbed to death by a robber. May God stir the hearts of the Jordanian people towards the Christ she served.

Falsely Accusing a 14 Year Old Christian

Rimsha Masih is a 14 year old Christian in Pakistan. She has been charged with desecrating the Quran. If convicted she could face the death penalty. However, a Muslim cleric has admitted that he tore pages from a Quran and planted the pages in her trash. Pray for Rimsha’s release and safety.

Another Case of Judicial Lunacy

I have grown accustomed to some of the crazy lawsuits and judicial rulings in our country. Still, my jaw dropped when I read of the federal judge ruling that tax payers have to pay for the sex change surgery of a prisoner with a life sentence.

Palm Beach County Politics

Palm Beach County (this is where I live) is no stranger to being in the news during presidential elections. So nobody should be surprised that the strange comments during an interview at the Democratic National Convention came from the head of the Democratic party for the county.

The Christians just want us (Jews) to be there (Israel) so we can be slaughtered and converted and bring on the second coming of Jesus Christ.

They’re not our friends. They want Israel to pursue policies which are antithetical with its security and existence. The worst possible allies for the Jewish state are the fundamentalist Christians, who want Jews to die and convert so they can bring on the second coming of their Lord. It is a false friendship. They are seeking their own ends and not ours.

Update: Siegel has resigned after apologizing for the comments.

New Orleans and Sports Commissioners

Who would blame sports fans in New Orleans if they failed to list sports commissioners on their favorite people ballots? First, the NBA commissioner killed the deal for Chris Paul which would have given New Orleans some of the Lakers’ talent. Now, the NFL commissioner has had his big suspensions of Saints’ players overturned. It’s a good thing that The Big Easy doesn’t have a major league baseball team.
