The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Suzie and I just returned from watching the second movie installment of C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia.” When my kids were younger, we all enjoyed when I read these stories to them. Now it is enjoyable watching the stories on the big screen.

It was great watching the imagery representing deeper thought come to life on the screen. Aslan has been a hero for my kids for a long time. My favorite bit of imagery concerns the size of Aslan. Lucy makes note that Aslan is larger than the last time she encountered him. Aslan responds that the older she gets, the larger he will become. The interpretation is that the more mature we become, the larger Jesus becomes to us.

Since this was a Disney production, I was a little curious about fireworks shooting off around the castle on two separate occasions. It was a little too reminiscent of the fireworks around Cinderella’s castle at Disneyworld.
