Watching the FIFA World Cup hosted by Germany has reminded me of just how fortunate I have been to have lived and traveled throughout the world. These experiences have certianly enriched my life. I confess that I could be dropped down in Europe and would happily explore the continent with all of its history.
In my work, I am constantly reminded of our global culture. My staff includes mostly native Louisvillians, but we also have workers from Mexico and Moldavia. Last week I enjoyed a pleasant conversation with guests from Bavaria in Germany.
I have lived in Okinawa (too little to remember much), Italy and Germany. I have also spent weeks in Israel, Switzerland, Russia and Guatemala.
